Principal's Newsletter 2021

Updated: Oct 23, 2022

Mrs. Rose Marie Clarke

Principal

Someone once said that challenges makes life interesting; overcoming them makes life meaningful.

This academic year proved that quote to be true. School was conducted this year in the virtual space. We should be extremely happy that we not only survived the year but can boast that we are all more technologically savvy. The goal to expose our learners to as many experiences as possible in the online class was achieved. The pictures on our website bear testimony to this. I say thanks to the entire team, our staff working closely with our students coupled with parents/caregivers sitting by their side.

Thanks to our parents who took the time to have the learning kits ready, prepared for class and uploaded completed activities after for marking. Thank you for participation in our weekly Parenting Workshops. Don’t forget that you promised to take all that you learned and share with other parents to ensure that the ripple effect of change, moves all the way out into all the communities of our beautiful island Jamaica. Parents please join me in thanking all our guest presenters, for the workshops and for P.T.A meetings and of course Ms. Carene Francis from Early Childhood Commission.

There is no "I" in team, we have worked together staff, students and community to achieve excellence. We cannot however become complacent, we must continue to work in order to maintain the standard and achieve even more. Parents/Guardians, who are moving on to a new school, take with you the morals and values we hold dear. Continue to be as supportive as you have been at St. Joseph’s Infant. The doors of our Parent's Place are still open to you, feel free to stop by. Students continue to work hard and remember that you are leaders and I expect you to do your best as you model all the values taught and stand out as an exemplary learner.

Members of staff, I am proud to be a part of this hardworking team. As we breathe and pause at this intersection, be reminded we must rise to the challenge and embrace the individuals who will join our family in the next academic year.

“To accomplish great things, we must not only act, but also dream; not only plan but also believe” (Anatole Francis).

May the peace of Christ be with you all.
